Built-in integration with Koala Sampler and Serato software lets you expand your performances using a phone, tablet, or laptop.

The vivid OLED display and zoomable waveform view make sample editing intuitive and fast. Chop samples in real time, use auto chop for instant slicing, then fine-tune with envelope shaping and pitch control. Instantly convert any pattern or pattern chain into a sample. Add swing and timing variation with the Groove function, or capture spontaneous magic with Skip Back Sampling, recording up to 40 seconds of your last performance.

Shape, bend, and destroy your sounds with legendary SP effects and powerful new additions. Classic effects like Vinyl Simulator and DJFX Looper are joined by Lo-Fi, Cassette Simulator, and Resonator. Layer and route multiple bus effects, motion-record effect parameters, and create rich, evolving textures. Plug in a mic or guitar and jam instantly using Vocoder, Auto Pitch, and Guitar Amp Simulator effects.

Performance-Tuned Sequencing

Create unique patterns and energize performances with flexible real-time recording, deep editing tools, and the intuitive TR-REC step sequencer. Adjustable quantize and shuffle, a Roll button for note repeats, and BPM-per-bank make live performance effortless. Chain patterns for structured playback, sync with external MIDI gear, and export all pattern samples as individual WAV files using Multipad Export for DAW-based production.

Sound Stash

Jump straight into beatmaking with the preinstalled sounds stored in the SP-404MKII’s ultra-fast 16 GB internal memory. Choose from a large, curated library and expand it with your own samples. With support for up to 160 samples per project, you can build complex sets for performance and production. The built-in Sound Generator lets you create synth tones for basslines, melodies, and sound effects directly inside the unit.

The world’s favorite portable sampler keeps expanding. SP-404MKII version 5 and later offers native support for Serato DJ Lite, Serato DJ Pro*, and Serato Studio, transforming the hardware into a pre-mapped Serato controller.
