The G10 Stereo Compressor is a true tube compressor based on the classic variable-mu
principle. This method - controlling the gain by altering quesient current in differential
tube pairs - is much faster than the optical method. In addition to the extremely high
speed in signal processing, however, it is the sonic properties of this circuit that distinguish
the G10 and have made it popular.
Details | Technical
● minimalistic, real-differential signal path from input to output
● transformer balanced inputs (> 10 kΩ)
● transformer balanced outputs (< 1 kΩ)
● 230V mains voltage (others on request)
● PCC189 (7ES8) remote cutoff dual triodes for VCA stages
● low noise E88CC (6DJ8) triodes as cathode followers for output stage
Details | Operability
● classic vari-mu type tube compressor
● wide range of operation levels allows clean and colored behavior
● selectable sidechain high-pass filter (6dB/octave at 80, 160 or 300 Hz)
● classic compressor parameters: Input-/Output-Gain, Threshold, Ratio, Attack,
Release & Bypass
