MixCubes are here to preserve your valuable sanity. MixCubes serve to
replicate the wide range of bass-challenged consumer listening devices
such as phone speakers, TVs, clock radios, laptops, wireless audio
devices, and more. While MixCube Actives are great for checking your
mixes for mono compatibility, they’ve been engineered for perfectly
matched stereo performance as well.
MixCubes are a huge upgrade from the original 5C Sound Cubes,
featuring a newly engineered cabinet; a more smooth, open, and
transparent driver; and an over-engineered power amplifier. We made
all of the improvements we could while retaining the original sonic
character of the classic 5C.

OVERSPEC’D ELECTRONICS WITH A PROPRIETARY DRIVER.
When developing the MixCubes, we took inspiration from a lauded studio
workhorse — but chose not to be limited by it. Instead, we updated the
mix session classic for modern production needs, creating an overspec’d
build for long-haul reliability.
The 5.25” die-cast, polished aluminum frame driver/cone assembly is a
proprietary design built to to exceed the performance of the originals. The
driver cone is custom-designed using a pulp/mica blend for light weight
and rigidity; Y-40 mil-spec magnets ensure high power and low distortion.
We designed the amp module from the ground up to be a true
professional-grade amplifier built from the ground up with over-spec’d
component selection.The result is a no-compromise amp with robust
headroom characteristics that rivals the performance of much higher-
priced studio rackmount amps.
The enclosure is built with dense MDF to reduce unwanted resonance,
while the bottom of the cabinet has a 7 mm thick neoprene pad to serve
as a skid-resistant acoustic isolator. Add the acoustic considerations to
the MixCube’s robust internal shielding, and you can expect nary a noise
issue to be heard wherever you set them up.

The small footprint of the MixCubes makes them easy to add to mixing
setups where desk space can be hard to come by, and a recessed,
industry-standard 5/8”-27 mic stand mount is built into the bottom for
more versatile monitoring configurations. Just grab a spare mic stand,
and you’re good to go!
