With its intuitive touchscreen workflow, compact design, and instrument types including Shredder, Loop, One-Shot, Slicer, Multisampled, and External, blackbox 2 offers extensive creative possibilities. The original blackbox model has established itself worldwide among music producers and live performers, and blackbox 2 consistently builds upon this concept.

Samples and sequences can be recorded, edited, played back live, and shaped – all supported by a high-resolution color touchscreen. Beats can be precisely cut, one-shots played via finger drumming, or multi-sample instruments like pianos controlled via the on-screen keyboard or a MIDI controller. Recordings can be made in real time or drawn in the Piano Roll Editor or the new Step Sequencer. Loop Groups allow multiple loops to be started simultaneously with BPM synchronization. Thus, the blackbox 2 covers all the functions needed for DAW-free music production on a desktop sampler. Thanks to the integrated 3-hour battery, the device is also portable.

Like bento, blackbox 2 features its own launch screen for spontaneously starting loop groups and sequences. Songs can be played back in their entirety via Song mode or flexibly combined as scenes. For live performances, real-time clip and scene triggering, expressive pads, resampling tools, and new DJ effects are available. With extensive real-time control options and versatile inputs and outputs, the device is ideal for DAW-free jams and performances.
